Stepping Stones
For any number of reasons, those living with HIV/AIDS often desperately need a safe, secure place to stay temporarily while they stabilize their life and begin the process of transitioning into permanent homes.
Whether they are relocating to Kansas City from surrounding states in search of medical expertise and supportive services, fleeing domestic violence situations, reeling from being shunned by family due to diagnosis or orientation, or working to escape homelessness – SAVE can provide a supportive place where lives can be rebuilt.
The transitional program provides a place to stay, funds aimed at removing existing barriers to permanent housing, and a Housing Specialist who works with clients to make and execute a plan to obtain permanent housing. This program is truly the step up that so many need to escape homelessness and stabilize their health.
