Prevention through Rental Assistance
The Prevention through Rental Assistance Program is designed to help those who are facing the dual struggle of homelessness and a mental or physical illness.
These folks are at an extremely high risk of contracting HIV/AIDS in addition to a host of other serious illnesses. Finding these at-risk individuals stable and affordable housing is crucial to preventing the spread of HIV and helping them manage their pre-existing illness.
This program achieves this by offering rental assistance vouchers to these individuals and families so that they have the housing support they need while also offering them the freedom to live anywhere in the community in an environment that is comfortable for them.
