Health through Housing
The Health through Housing Program provides housing assistance to those living with HIV/AIDS in the Kansas City area. Homeless individuals living with HIV are desperately at risk - rendering them ill-prepared to both manage their own illness and prevent the spread of the disease.
Housing stability is the first and most crucial step in treating those with HIV/AIDS. Once these individuals obtain stable housing they are able to take their medications effectively and shift the focus from basic survival on the street to treating their specific health issues. Such a shift can mean a renewed chance at a healthy lifestyle full of hope and dignity
