White House Announces New National HIV/AIDS Communication Campaign
The Obama Administration has announced a new HIV/AIDS awareness campaign - Act Against AIDS - to refocus attention on the HIV/AIDS crisis in the United States. In the United States, another person becomes infected with HIV every 9½ minutes. The campaign is designed to provide Americans with basic information about HIV/AIDS as well as referrals to HIV prevention and testing services throughout the nation. Please see the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) April 7, 2009 press release for more information about the campaign, or go directly to the campaign website at www.NineAndaHalfMinutes.org.
